Mike
spends most of his time paying the bills by teaching college students
how to save lives (CPR and First Aid), and how the body works
(Anatomy and Physiology). He also hires himself out seasonally
as a part-time park ranger. Time not spent in class or on the
mountain (Timpanogos Caves) is happily spent taking pictures.
Living in Utah provides him with all of the spectacular scenery
and interesting people he is likely to need for a while, and his
students provide him with the motivation to get out and enjoy
the former as often as possible. He has three grown "children"
(each born on June 23 by the way) and sees them seldom enough
nowadays that missing them, has become yet another preoccupation.
He has two amazingly devoted dogs (of which the "nice one"
is the pit bull), a home filled with other people's art, and a
collection of aching joints, spawned from a past life teaching
gymnastics. One of the joys in his life is knowing that a "slice"
of his "time" occasionally finds its way into other
peoples homes, while one of the low points is occasionally having
to write about himself in the third person.
